One route sheet from Lake DeSoto to the Ichetucknee: how Columbia County is covered
The tiles below are the towns and neighborhoods. This is how a shop 121 miles away actually gets to them.

The in-town loop
Inside Lake City the stops cluster: downtown and Lake DeSoto, the 1950s-80s ranches of Quail Heights and Country Club Estates, the southwest subdivisions in 32024 where Callaway, Emerald Lakes, Summers Ridge, Cypress Landing and the new Forest Cove and Hunter Oaks sit, and Eastside Village across town. A technician can work five or six of those in a day without touching the interstate. FPL is the utility here, which matters for rebates.
North and east: Five Points, Watertown, Lulu, Olustee
Five Points is a couple of miles north on US 41/441, half suburban and half rural. Watertown sits where US 90 meets SR 100 on the east edge, with older mill-era houses and mobile homes. Lulu is a farming crossroads ten miles out on SR 100, and Olustee is a hamlet beside the battlefield on US 90. These run as an eastern leg on the same day.
South and west: Fort White, Ellisville, Columbia City, White Springs
Fort White is twenty miles south toward the Ichetucknee, with big lot communities on wells and septic. Ellisville sits at I-75’s exit 414. Columbia City is the unincorporated southwest, served by its own county fire station but no formal boundary. White Springs is twelve miles northwest on the Suwannee River in Hamilton County. Outside the city limits nearly all of these are Clay Electric territory, with Suwannee Valley Electric in the far west, and most homes draw well water.
What the route changes about your appointment
Cook’s dispatches all of it from 37 Fairmont Ln in Palm Coast, about two hours and twenty-four minutes from downtown. Maintenance and non-urgent repairs are grouped into Columbia County route days so the drive is shared across many stops. Emergencies go out any hour with the drive time stated and no after-hours fee. When you call, name the town and the nearest road; it tells the dispatcher which leg you’re on.
Where exactly
Olustee is in Baker County. Do you really come that far east?
Yes. Olustee’s nearest parts house and nearest technician base is Lake City, so it rides the eastern leg of the same route day along with Lulu and Watertown.
Is White Springs on the same route day as Lake City or a separate trip?
Same day, usually as the first or last stop since it’s twelve miles northwest on US 41. Emergencies there are dispatched on their own, like anywhere else.
If I live in Columbia City, which isn't on any map, how do I describe where I am?
Name the nearest road and the county fire station on SW Wingate St if it’s close. Dispatch treats Columbia City as the southwest outskirts of Lake City, and a crossroads is all the technician needs.
